Employee Spotlight: Lillie Vincent

Born and raised in Cosby, Missouri – a rural farm town with a population of 124 – Lillie Vincent found her way to BlueTone Media as a Content Creator in 2021 after moving to Wilmington so her husband, Matthew, could begin his coastal engineering graduate studies at the University of North Carolina - Wilmington. Now, Lillie, Matthew, and their dog Merah have made Wilmington their home.

Lillie says that when she first interviewed at BlueTone, she knew right then and there that this was the team for her. Turns out, she was right! Her favorite parts about working at BlueTone are the people she gets to work beside every day to help meet client goals and visions. The down-to-earth work experience and culture that BlueTone has instilled in its employees is evident in Lillie’s everyday duties.

Lillie is a creative at heart, having a passion for all things writing and art. In her current position, she produces a wide variety of content, from blog posts to videos to website wireframes and more. Lillie says the Content Creator position fit her skill set perfectly, as she studied at the renowned University of Missouri Journalism school. One of her favorite parts about her position? “There’s never a dull moment! I love it!”

Not only is Lillie an amazing content writer for BlueTone, but she has also worn many hats in her young professional career. Besides working as a content creator, she spent time as a state government reporter, infographic designer, news copy editor, teaching assistant, and collegiate writing tutor. She also has basic experience with data analytics and visualization, backend web design and coding, GIS and has worked to build strong videography and photography skills over the years.

Favorite Color: Dark green 💚

Favorite Food: Red Thai Chicken Curry 🍛 (preferably prepared by my brother)

Favorite Movie: Les Misérables 🍿 (The newer version with Hugh Jackman, Amanda Seyfried, and Eddie Redmayne). I find the story and its intensity absolutely gripping!

Favorite TV Show: Sherlock 🔎 (You know, the one where Benedict Cumberbatch is Sherlock Holmes. I love a good mystery series.)

Favorite Game: I really love any and all games, but Mario Kart is probably my favorite 🎮 . I am not very good at it, but I’ve enjoyed playing it since I was a kid!

Favorite Outdoor Activity: I love a good hike👟! It’s one of my dreams to hike a mountain one day. 

Favorite Band/Singer: Lord Huron 🎙️ . It is one of the online concerts I’ve ever seen in person. It was a special memory I shared with my brother. 

Favorite Animal: Tigers 🐯 ! (My dad raised me to be a big fan of the University of Missouri – the college he attended, along with his father, brother, and eventually me. Of course, the mascot was a tiger!)

Favorite Hobby: It’s got to be reading 📖 . Every Saturday morning, you’ll catch me sipping coffee on my porch, taking in some sun, and reading a good historical fiction or nonfiction book.
